The legislative purpose at the Oklahoma State School Boards Association is to represent school districts at the Capitol.  The OSSBA accomplishes this by proactively initiating and encouraging legislation that would benefit Oklahoma public schools, and also by fighting off legislation that would have a negative impact on school districts.  School board members play an important role which includes advocating on behalf of their school district, both in the community and at the Capitol.
