QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills, including knowledge of basic grammar rules
  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion and confidentiality in the performance of duties
  • Quality customer service skills
  • Knowledge of office software and tools, such as Microsoft Office
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Other appropriate qualifications as determined by the Executive Director

REPORTS TO: Director of Policy Services/Staff Attorneys

SUPERVISES: N/A

COORDINATES/COLLABORATES WITH: Legal Team and OSSBA Staff

JOB GOAL:    To help provide assistance with the delivery of policy services to OSSBA members

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Prepares policies for school districts subscribing to basic and maintenance services in accordance with respective program guidelines.
  • Prepares progress schedule, drafts, and customized manuals for school districts contracting for customization service.
  • Prepares and maintains information for school districts that subscribe to online policy service.
  • Maintains directory of subscribers and updates mailing list as necessary to ensure subscribers are receiving the PSST newsletter.
  • Maintains source materials and draft documents for school districts in accordance with OSSBA policy.
  • Distributes policy materials in a timely manner.
  • Manages policy files.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Cross-trains with Administrative Assistant to the Legal Department and the Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Executive Director.
  • Assists with additional projects and priorities of the overall OSSBA team.
  • Other duties as assigned.   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Walk, bend, kneel, and reach.
  • Sit for extended periods of time at a desk to perform job functions.
  • Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Read, write, and interpret written documents.
  • Hearing and speaking adequate to exchange information with others.
  • Manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment.

ENVIRONMENT: This position involves a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.  The legal suite is located on the second floor of the building, and an elevator is available. Occasional travel may be required.

EVALUATION:     This position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Policy Services.

SALARY RANGE:  Competitive hourly wage, based on experience

FLSA STATUS:     Non-Exempt
