Background Checks and Vetting Candidates

Attend online or in-person!

Properly screening and interviewing candidates are effective ways to vet potential employees. Join OSSBA Attorney Kim Bishop as she discusses how to read and understand criminal history background checks and provides guidance on how to conduct background investigations and how screening information can and cannot be used to make employment decisions for your school district. This session will include discussion and interactions regarding the legal landmines school administrators should avoid when conducting interviews and will provide tips for making interviews a more productive experience for all parties involved.
