OSSBA Town Hall to Feature State Health Official


Jared TaylorDr. Jared Taylor, who was named the state’s interim epidemiologist in August, will join OSSBA Executive Director Shawn Hime for the first session of OSSBA’s virtual fall Town Hall series on Sept. 10.

Taylor will provide updated COVID-19 information with local education leaders, discuss the importance of a state-local partnership in reducing the disease’s spread across Oklahoma and answer questions from board members and administrators.

This free session is eligible for 1 ethics credit for school board members.

* If you already registered for the Sept. 10 town hall, no action is required on your part. Please note this session had been previously advertised as a finance credit. A session with finance credit will be rescheduled for a future town hall.

About the town hall series:

The Let’s Talk OSSBA Town Hall Series will allow us to provide up-to-date information to all board members and administrators on a regular basis throughout the fall.

  • Each session will be free, will begin about 6 p.m. and will last up to 90 minutes.
  • The topics will vary from session to session, based on current events. Attend as many as you want!
  • Registration will be required and is available in the OSSBA member portal.
  • One hour of credit will be offered for each town hall you choose to attend. The credit type may vary for each session.
  • Additional dates include Sept. 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Nov. 5, Nov. 19 and Dec. 3. Topics and available credit will be announced at least a week before the town hall.
