Region 7 Spring Meeting

March 3, 2022 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Please RSVP on or before Friday, Feb. 25.

ADVOCACY FOR EDUCATION LEADERS

The conversation begins with the pre-region meeting workshop from 5:30-6:15 p.m.

In order to be an effective legislator, elected officials rely on constituent input. Ongoing communication is key for public representatives to know and understand how voters feel about particular issues.

As a school board member, your responsibility in communicating with members of the legislature and with your community members is especially important. No one can share your district vision or explain the impact of decisions at the local level better than those on the front lines.

In this session, the OSSBA team will provide tips on effective advocacy, not only at the state capitol building, but also in your hometowns with community members, business owners, city council, faith leaders and community volunteers.

LEGISLATION AND LEGAL HOT TOPICS CONVERSATION

The region meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, attendees will participate in conversations about a variety of proposed legislation and legal hot topics.

Your local legislators have been invited to participate in the meeting. Please take a few minutes to contact them personally and ask them to attend.
