Title IX Athletics

Attend online! This is a repeat of the 9-22-21 session.

Due to noise disruptions during the 9-22-21 Title IX Athletics Session, Brandon Carey will offer this learning opportunity again, online, at no charge to registered attendees of the 9-22-21 session. This virtual workshop is also open to everyone at regular registration rates.

OSSBA Staff Attorney Brandon Carey will discuss the major elements of athletic program compliance with Title IX, including accommodating the athletic interests and abilities of the student body, Title IX and money, and how to ensure equivalence in benefits and opportunities (e.g., equipment and supplies, game and practice schedules, facilities, etc.). From his perspective as a former attorney with the Office for Civil Rights, he will also discuss the issues that often lead to OCR complaints and dispel some common myths about Title IX compliance.

Have a question for Brandon to address during the workshop? Submit it in advance here.

Workshop materials are available for registered attendees through the OSSBA member portal.

9/22/21 registered attendees may register for this session at no charge by contacting Lisa Deaton via email or call Lisa at 888-528-3571.
