April 29 Vision Meeting

Vision Statement
Oklahoma’s public schools will value and empower every student to reach their greatest potential, providing them with a safe, supportive environment and meaningful pathways for success – inspiring them to be lifelong learners prepared to lead as responsible, engaged global citizens.

Guiding Goals
To build support for a locally determined educational vision founded on research-based initiatives proven to positively impact student learning and well-being.

To advance a mindset that students, educators, parents, business leaders, and policy makers will champion a proactive, positive educational vision.

Shared Beliefs
Every student should receive a free, complete, and high-quality education that is right for them.
— We believe in helping each student grow as much as possible by giving them the support they need, no matter what that is.
— We believe in providing all students with a high-quality, appropriate education, no matter their situation or background.

Schools should be places where students learn to respect each other, accept each other, and become independent thinkers who care about their community.
— We believe students should be free to explore, ask questions, and grow.

Parents and community involvement is important for strong public schools.
— We believe families and local groups that work together with schools and share their ideas will make education better for our students.
